A Visionary Who Chose the Classroom
As the Chairman of Nirmal Academy, Dr. Ramashankar Chourasia exemplifies a deep commitment to academic excellence, research, and holistic education. With a strong academic background including an MSc in Microbiology, B.Ed., MA in Education, and a PhD in Meditation and Mental Health, he brings a powerful combination of subject expertise and research-driven insight to the field of teaching. With over 19 years of experience, his leadership reflects a passion for nurturing young minds, empowering educators, and fostering an environment that promotes critical thinking, innovation, and lifelong learning. In today’s dynamic educational landscape, where challenges such as student well-being, evolving pedagogies, and skill-based learning are increasingly important, his achievement of a PhD in Meditation and Mental Health highlights a forward-looking and research-oriented approach. Under his visionary guidance, Nirmal Academy integrates evidence-based teaching practices with value-based education, ensuring students are not only academically successful but also emotionally resilient and socially responsible. His dedication continues to inspire a culture of excellence and continuous growth within the institution.
In 2007, with 15 students, two teachers, and a room, he founded Nirmal Academy — a name that has since become synonymous with academic rigour and genuine care for every child who walks through its doors.
Quality education is every child's birthright — not a privilege reserved for those who can afford it.
What set him apart from the beginning was not just subject mastery, but an understanding that a student is a whole person. He insisted on mentoring, not just teaching — on building confidence alongside knowledge, on addressing the student's anxiety about exams as much as the syllabus itself.
Credentials That Reflect Commitment
Dr. Ramashankar Chourasia’s doctoral research in Education focuses on the Effectiveness of Meditation Intervention and Mental Health Practices on Secondary School Students. His work explores how structured meditation techniques, including practices such as Sahaja Yoga, can be systematically integrated into school settings to enhance students’ psychological well-being. Using standardized assessment tools and field-based research, the study evaluates the impact of these interventions on key aspects such as anxiety, aggression, emotional stability, and overall mental health among adolescents. In today’s educational landscape, where students are increasingly exposed to academic pressure, digital distractions, and emotional stress, this research holds significant importance. It aligns with the growing emphasis on holistic education by promoting mental health, mindfulness, and self-regulation alongside academic excellence. The findings of his doctoral work provide practical insights and evidence-based strategies for educators, parents, and institutions to create a supportive learning environment that nurtures emotionally resilient, focused, and well-balanced individuals.
Values That Drive Every Decision
Under Dr. Chourasia's leadership, Nirmal Academy is built on a set of non-negotiable values — principles that guide every hiring decision, every curriculum revision, every conversation with a struggling student at 9pm before an exam.
A Legacy Measured in Lives Changed
The numbers tell one part of the story: over 6,000 students coached, more than 1,100 employed alumni, and a track record of producing district-level toppers, Olympiad medallists, and JEE/NEET qualifiers year after year.
But Dr. Chourasia measures success differently. He remembers the student who came in barely passing and left with a merit scholarship. The first- generation learner whose parents had never been to college, who went on to become a commercial pilot. The girl who was told science wasn't for her, who is now a NEET qualifier.
That is the legacy he is building — not in brick and mortar, but in the potential unleashed in every young mind that Nirmal Academy touches.
I measure our success not in toppers on a banner, but in the child who finally believed they could.
